I met Sandra Cisneros today and I asked her for writing advice and this is what she said:
She said that I must join a writing group and write with them.
Then, I must improve upon my writing by joining a workshop where writers review and critique each others writing.
She asked me how often I write.
I said every other day or at least I try to.
Then, she asked me what type of writing I wanted to do and I said film writing, and/or novels.
She then replied that she couldn't really help me with the film writing because she doesn't know much about that area.
But, she did tell me that if I want to write short stories and novels I should join a group of writers and write with them.
Now, I have decided to take Writing Fiction at my University next semester.
Let's see where life takes me.
I believe in destiny.

two servings in a bag, I was tricked
It was 11:00 pm and Alicia sat in the school hallway. Her phone was almost dead and all the offices were closed. She sat waiting for the call "I'm here" from her sister, Valentina, who was on her way to pick her up.
"It's so cold here," she said after a while and walked to the vents on the wall that pushed warm air into the hallway. She sat down with her back in front of one of the vents and ate fruit snacks from the vending machine in one of the lower floors. She felt tired, so she lowered her head on her lap. Ten seconds passed when she heard a voice behind her, "Alicia, I'm down the hallway."
Alicia lifted her head quickly and turned around. The vent was behind her. She said nothing. Then the voice said again, "Alicia, I'm down the hallway."
Alicia jumped to her feet and slowly turned her head to the right.
"Who's there?" she asked hesitantly. There was no reply. Then warm air from the vent swept across her face and with the air came a voice again, "Alicia, I'm down the hallway."
"Valentina is that you?" Alicia asked. Her sister must be playing a joke on her. There was silence.
In this moment, Valentina pulled up in front of the school as she dialed Alicia.
Alicia spoke again, "Valentina, stop playing games with me."
After she spoke, her phone began to ring. The air from the vent turned cold. Alicia was too scared to answer the phone. Her body was frozen in place. Why would Valentina be calling her on her phone if she was down the hallway? The phone stopped ringing.
As Valentina dialed again from the car, Alicia found it difficult to move. A black figure appeared at the end of the hallway. Her phone rang again and went directly to voicemail.
"Ali, I'm outside. Hurry up. Hurry up, Ali. It's freezing out here."

donuts with strawberry jelly
The pillow felt heavy as he opened his eyes. The sun was setting and the crowd outside had stopped talking. His wife stood leaning over the balcony. The man slowly stood from the bed and walked to her. The woman did not turn around, but she felt him approach.
"Stop right there," she said to her husband.
"What are you doing dear?" he asked. The woman then turned around slightly, crying. She pointed at the sky and said melancholically, "I just, I just want to be a star in the sky."
"But you are the universe to me already," he replied and walked to her.
The woman remained silent. She reached into her pocket and took out a small yellow star and said to her husband, "If I am your universe. Then you are my star."

i think we should run, run, run, run
People pass past pretty performers.
Orange or oregano or otherwise obtained.
And an apple appeared after an ant advanced ahead.
Be better bee because bees become beautiful!
Lampshades look like little lollipops.
Dear, do dream down don't draw dawn.
How have his heavy hands handled harmony?
Roaring rivers run reversed.

overwhelming my heart
I cannot wait. I really cannot wait to go to film school. I cannot wait to be in the next generation of filmmakers. Just the thought of it gets my heart racing. In fact, my heart is racing right now, Ahhh... This feeling is overwhelming. I want to cry from joy. I want to make people feel feelings. I want to make people cry, laugh, be mad, sad, remorseful, confident, energized, and scared. I cannot wait to tell stories that have the potential of changing people's lives for the better. Ahhh...
So here is a story.
Today, I really wanted to see Inside Out and my sister, Diana, and I went to every Redbox close to our home, but the movie was not in anyone. It had been rented in all kiosks. Even though I was not able to get a copy of Inside Out I felt very happy. "Everyone is watching the movie," I remember thinking. I was, still am, very happy. "I'll watch it later. It's not the end of the world," I thought. I haven't seen the movie but hope to see it soon. I think it will make me cry. It must be a beautiful creation. I know it has to be.
Then,
while Diana and I looked for the movie at the last kiosk a family of four, a mother, father, and two little girls ran happily to the kiosk where we stood. They stood behind us and the little girls jumped around. The little girls were so happy to be renting a movie. They got me thinking, "Wow, I hope to make people so happy some day." I almost cried. I feel like crying. It is people like those little girls that I want to make films for. Just the thought of their reactions is overwhelming my heart.

It's been four days, I know, but University
I wrote a scary story that is not so scary.
There was once a man who was in his bathroom when he wondered what was under his bathtub because he would hear noises from time to time. He grabbed the drill in his garage and drilled a hole in his bathtub. When he was able to make a big enough hole he looked inside, but couldn't see anything. Thus, he drilled even more until the hole was bigger. Once the hole was so big he could jump in if he wanted to; he looked inside again. Beneath his bathtub was a deep hole with such an immense depth that it made him curious to throw something inside. He grabbed the closest object to him, which was a plastic cup. He threw it inside and after a while he heard a thud and nothing more.
"Hmmm... That was peculiar," he said and shrugged his shoulders. As he turned around to leave his bathroom, he heard a raspy voice, "You've set me free and you hit me."
The man turned around and was never seen again.
When people went to search for him at his house after endless phone calls, they found that nothing was different. The man had disappeared. A friend who spoke Spanish said, "A lo mejor so lo trago la tierra."

coffe cakes and cheesecake
I have several questions:
What would you do if someone you loved or was a huge part of your life never talked about you again or acknowledged that you were ever there?
What if that someone suddenly left from your life?
What if that person wrote a book explaining their whole life and left you out?
Would that mean you were never part of their life?
Then what happened to knowing them?
Was it all fake?
Would you feel betrayed?
What would you do?

i made the worst coffee ever today, maybe
"Damn right I said that! Now what are you going to do about it?" is what I always imagine myself saying to someone who wants to confront me on a matter or issue that we disagree on.

water bottles walk on water
I have thought of this before.
You never really know what anyone is doing except yourself. If someone is with you in the same house even in the same room you do not know entirely what the person is doing, right?
Your mom, dad, sister or brother might be eating secret candy they hid from you
or they might be solving the next big mathematical proof
or scribbling in a secret notebook
or writing the next big single
or eating your favorite ice cream that you didn't know you had
or staring at a wall with no purpose
or dancing in front of a mirror
or building a fort out of cushions
or playing basketball with a trash can and paper
or closing their eyes
or blinking rapidly
or reading a book that is making them silently cry and they don't want anyone to see.
You may not know what anyone is doing. Who knows? I don't know. You don't know. We will never know what other people are entirely doing, right?

lemon and honey cough drops
What do you think of when you sit alone in a dark room in the nighttime?
Or you sit in a room with the light on?
Does an open window cause chaos or comfort?
Does it distract or immerse you in the nighttime?
Do your thoughts halt or flow with the endless swirls of darkness before you?
If you close your eyes.
What happens to the nighttime?
If you open them.
Is the darkness the same?

nieve de café
I have realized that I haven't written in this blog in a really really long time, so this is my maybe final attempt to revive this blog. In order for me to remember or just begin to write, I have come up with several rules.
First:
I will write on here every day no matter how long or short.
Second:
I can write fiction, non-fiction, poetry, or basically anything as long as I write.
Third:
Whatever I write on here has to be new. It cannot be something I am writing for a class or the creative writing club or for the newspaper or anything else.
Fourth:
I will have fun and even though writing can feel laborious it is always inspiring.
That is all.
