Tito & Tita
Two birds were talking, one was named Tito and the other Tita.
Scene: Tito sits on an oak tree branch. Tita lands next to him.
Tita
Hey! What are yah doin'?
Tito
Oh, you know nothing just here looking out at the wilderness.
Tita
Oh yeah? What specifically are yah lookin' at?
Tito
Nothing really much, just how the snow slowly melts as the day goes by.
Tita
Wait? How long yah been here sitting on this oak tree branch?
Tito
What do you mean?
Tita
Yeah. It's almost one in da afternoon and yah said, let me quote yah, 'as the day goes by."
Tito
I've been here since eight. Just staring at the snow melt.
Tita
Dayum dude! And you ain't eaten yet?
Tito
Yeah, I ate a worm that landed next to me when it fell from one of the top branches.
Tita
And that's all yah eaten?
Tito
Yeah.
Tita
Well yah sure does have a strong fascination for dah melting snow 'cause I would've scrammed out a here a long time ago. Mah guts would've been screaming by now.
Tito
Well, you know, it's not often that you watch snow melt.
Tita
You got that right! Well, how long you gonna stay here perched on this here oak tree branch?
Tito
Oh, I don't know. Maybe until nighttime?
Tita
'Till nighttime?!
Tito
Yes, until nighttime.
Tita
Dayum! You sure is a strong birdy 'cause I would've scrammed out of here a long time ago.
(silence)
Tita (cont.)
Well Tito, I'm gonna leave 'cause I am hungry. You want some of them worms from some of the tree branches above?
Tito
No thank you. I just want to watch the snow melt.
Tita
Okay, see yah around Tito and don't let anyone tell you you are a weird birdy.
Tito
All right Tita.
(Tita flies away)
